New examples of the Dodge Dart sold during the third quarter

The analysis of manufacturers’ sales figures is sometimes hilarious, especially in the context of a shortage of vehicles. At the house of Dodge, old models that have not been on the market for six years continue to register sales figures. This is moreover the case of the Dodge Dart which sold 3 copies in the United States during the third quarter.

Clearly, there was a surplus of inventory of this compact which was withdrawn from the market in 2016. Indeed, six years after its last year of marketing, it is still registering sales figures. Moreover, in total, since January 2022, 5 Dodge Darts have been sold by our neighbors to the south. If no Dart was sold in Canada this year, we must still take the time to point out that a copy was marketed here last year, 5 years after its end of its marketing.

What’s intriguing about this story is that these were brand new Darts that had been sitting in dealerships all this time. The question arises: how much did buyers pay for these old new cars? Were these desperate sales attempts by dealerships short on inventory? One thing is certain, we see through these figures that, in fact, there is a buyer for any vehicle!

Dodge’s US sales figures reveal other interesting data. The Caravan, a vehicle that the manufacturer has not marketed since 2020, continues to sell there. No less than 27 copies have found takers so far this year.

Obviously, such data reflects the reality of the current market where dealerships and builders scrape funds from barrels in order to make ends meet. At least the five owners of Dodge Dart can rejoice in the fact that they have in their hands one of the rarest new cars on the market, with, as a bonus, a manufacturer’s warranty!
