New SE Hybrid version for the 2022 Toyota RAV4
The Toyota RAV4 has been the best-selling compact SUV in Canada for several years now. To mark its 25th anniversary in Canada, but also since it is in its fourth year of marketing its fifth generation, the manufacturer Toyota is making some changes to its popular model. They are mainly stylistic, although a new version has just entered.
You have to be a keen observer to spot the changes that have taken place for the 2022 model year of the Toyota RAV4. XLE and higher-equipped versions receive redesigned, more powerful LED headlights, now incorporating U-shaped daytime running lights that cross the entire headlight. The fog lights of the XSE Hybrid version are also replaced by the verticals of the XSE Prime version. The wheels of the LE Hybrid, XLE and XLE Hybrid versions change color, while those of the XLE Hybrid, XSE Hybrid and Limited versions change appearance.
Toyota takes the opportunity to introduce a new version that is positioned under the XSE Hybrid: the SE Hybrid. It essentially takes the sporty style of the XSE Hybrid version, with its wheel arches painted in gloss black and its 19-inch rims, but offers a little less equipment. A new blue color is added, available on the SE Hybrid, XSE Hybrid and TRD Off-Road versions.
On board, the manufacturer is making some minor changes. Interior lighting is now LED on all versions and the glove box is now equipped with a lock. Illuminated switches are added to the XLE versions and the passenger seat has eight power adjustments, which will allow the passenger to adjust the seat height and lumbar support.
For the rest, the Toyota RAV4 does not change. It is still offered with thermal, hybrid and plug-in hybrid engines in different versions, for a total of 13 possible variations. Pricing for Canadian versions of the 2022 Toyota RAV4 will be announced closer to the dealership date around mid-December.
