New version and slight price increase of the 2024 Subaru BRZ
Introduced in 2012, the Subaru BRZ brought an additional touch of sportiness to the Japanese manufacturer. The vehicle, which bears the name 86 on the Toyota side, contrasts with Subaru’s usual offering. On the one hand, it is a 2 +2 coupe, and on the other hand, it is the only one in Subaru’s range not to have all-wheel drive, it is rather a propulsion.
For 2024, the BRZ returns as a 2 modele generation, but Subaru has slightly redesigned its versions. The base and Sport-tech versions remain available, but both now feature as standard the EyeSight driver assistance package which includes adaptive cruise control, pre-collision braking, lane departure and sway warning and the traffic resumption alert.
A new tS version
For 2024, the 2024 Subaru BRZ is offered in a new version called tS. According to the manufacturer, the latter enhances the driving experience thanks to a few modifications that improve its character, the exclusive suspension calibrated by the STI team, in particular.
On the outside, it is distinguished by its mirrors and its shark fin-shaped antenna which displays a silica black crystal finish, while a red BRZ badge is integrated into the headlights, and the vehicle is fitted with rims of 18 inches of aluminum alloy in dark gray color which are exclusive to it.
It also inherits a more efficient Brembo braking system with 4 pistons at the front and 2 pistons at the rear. The calipers are painted gold, and the pads and discs are larger.
Inside, the 2024 Subaru BRZ tS features blue seat trims rather than red, and the STI logo has been added to the red start button and digital instrument cluster with 7-inch display.
Same engine and power
Under the hood, the 2024 Subaru BRZ benefits from the same mechanics, namely a 2.4-liter Boxer engine with direct fuel injection which develops 228 horsepower and produces 184 pound-feet of torque. Power is transmitted exclusively to the rear wheels via a TORSEN brand self-locking differential.
The base Sport-tech and tS versions are offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox, but only the Sport-tech can be optioned with a 6-speed automatic. The latter also includes automatic reverse braking, a remote starter, steering wheel selection levers and Sport and Snow driving modes.
