Nissan launches a video of the future Nissan Z Nismo

Introduced in Canada in 2022, the Nissan Z is the latest generation of the manufacturer’s iconic sports car. Following in the footsteps of Nissan 370Z, the Z, on the other hand, is more powerful than its predecessors. Powered by a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder, twin-turbocharged engine, the Z produces 400 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. Although the car is powerful as standard, Nissan confirms that it is preparing the Z Nismoan even more powerful edition, according to the manufacturer.

A sliding video

It is thanks to a video published by the manufacturer that we can glimpse the first lines of the Z Nismo. According to Nissan, this edition is specially adapted to the track. To prove it, the company called on Chris Forsberg, racing driver and 3-time Formula Drift champion. In the short video, we can see Chris Forsberg taking the wheel of the Z Nismo to perform some great glides. According to what can be observed in the sequence, the vehicle seems well suited to this kind of driving and the racing driver takes the trouble to confirm everything with a thumbs up in the air.

Regarding the engine, the manufacturer clearly shows in the video that the 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine with twin turbos will be back under the hood of the vehicle. Although Nissan endorses that the sports car “will mark a new chapter of thrills »,no technical data has yet been released. It is possible to observe that the version tested by Chris Forsberg is equipped with an automatic type transmission, but it is impossible at the time of writing these lines to know how much speed this said transmission will be entitled to. Note that the regular version uses a Mercedes-Benz-sourced nine-speed automatic transmission.

Some observable details

It is interesting to see the first camouflage-free images of the Nissan Z Nismo in the short video. In a particular color and which does not seem to be offered in the regular editions of the Z, the Nismo is entitled to a very distinctive style. A series of red lines and accessories are clearly visible on the exterior of the vehicle. Aerodynamic skirts and an exclusive spoiler are also clearly visible, as are the wheels and Nismo symbols, unique to the edition.

Inside, the red-coloured seats have a sporty character thanks to the integration of the Nismo emblem in the headrest. Apart from the seats, the interior resembles the editions currently offered on the market, but we will have to wait for the vehicle’s release before confirming everything.

Speaking of launch, Nissan confirms that the Nissan Z Nismo will be unveiled later this summer. We will therefore have to wait before learning more about this sports car.
