Nissan seeks to redefine himself by electrification

Nissan may be a pioneer in electrification since the marketing of the Leaf in 2011, the Japanese brand does not have a very extensive electric shutter. Yes, there is the compact SUV Ariya which completes the duo, but the hybrid is completely absent from its portfolio. The brand has confirmed that it will soon remedy these obvious deficiencies.

The manufacturer has drawn up the main lines of a sequence of launching of 10 modernized or fully renewed models stretching until 2027. The whole will start with the marketing of the third generation of the Compact Leaf this year. If we rely on the first published photo, she seems to wear a multi-Segment physique by making the transition to the CMF-EV modular electrical platform shared with Ariya. Nissan argues that it will be provided with a NACS connector making it compatible with the network of Tesla superchargers.

We also promise important gains in autonomy thanks to the efficiency of its motorization, its more modern electrical architecture and its more aerodynamic dress. For reference, the current Leaf can travel up to 342 km without thermoregulation system by liquid, which affects the sustainability of its battery and its autonomy in hot or cold weather.

Undoubtedly galvanized by the arrival of the Scout brand, Nissan finally plans to launch an electric SUV focused on the outset from 2027. For Infiniti, it will be necessary to wait 2028 for a first electric foray with … a SUV.

The Nissan Rogue 2025

The Rogue, the most popular model in the country of the Nissan range, will also benefit from the addition this year from a hybrid propellant group of the plunge to make it more competitive. No explanation was given about it, but it would not be surprising that it is derived from the mechanics of the Mitsubishi Outlander Phev, a 2.4 l four-cylinder (131 hp) supported by an electric motor (114 hp) and which can travel 61 km thanks to the support of a 20 kWh battery.

A conventional hybrid variant of this compact SUV will also see the light of day in 2026 with a three-cylinder of 1.5 l turbocharged aboard the new and fourth generation of the model.

And the others

A whole new generation of the Compact Sentra sedan will be unveiled this year, as is a refreshment of the Pathfinder intermediate SUV.

Infiniti will be entitled to the launch of a modernized QX60 in 2025 and a new QX65 CUT-CUT in 2026. Is it enough to straighten this luxury brand in perdition? We can certainly doubt it.
