Nissan | Z coupe gets the Nismo performance treatment

Continuing a tradition started in 2007 with the unveiling of the expressive 350Z Nismo, Nissan has unveiled a new Nismo livery that will swell the catalog of its recently arrived Z coupe.

This version prepared by the sports subsidiary of the manufacturer receives various modifications intended to increase its performance. Under the hood, its twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 increases its punch by a modest total of 20 hp (420 hp) and its torque by 34 lb-ft (384 lb-ft). These gains are the result of increased turbocharger pressure and optimized ignition timing. Nissan unfortunately did not see fit to integrate a manual transmission into the recipe, preferring only the nine-speed automatic transmission.

The chassis receives for its part new stabilizer bars, bushings and firmer springs as well as larger shock absorbers to sharpen its behavior. We complete the whole thing with a beefier braking system and the same tires offered on the GT-R (Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT600).

Nissan has been careful not to reveal its price and its marketing schedule. This Z Nismo should logically exceed by a few thousand dollars the $62,834 required for the purchase of the Z Performance version with automatic transmission.
