Parts supply problem: the 2024 Nissan Frontier will only be offered in two versions
The pandemic that we have experienced over the past few years has truly turned the automotive world upside down. However, while we might have believed that the situation had improved, we learned from Nissan Canada that the 2024 Nissan Frontier is affected by parts supply difficulties. This will result in a reduction in the number of versions offered to just two for the Canadian market this year.
Supply problems
Parts supply problems continue to give automakers headaches. This is also the case for Nissan, which is forced to reduce the number of versions sold on the Canadian market for the Frontier in 2024. Faced with this situation, the Japanese manufacturer has decided to focus only on the most recent versions. popular: PRO-4X Crew Cab and PRO-4X Luxury Crew Cab.
The less equipped versions as well as the King Cab version with reversed rear doors are therefore no longer offered by us for the 2024 model year. This change in the offer will now increase the starting price of a new Frontier to $54,856 , including transport and preparation costs.
This situation, however, has no repercussions on a technical level, since the Nissan Frontier is only marketed with one engine. This is the 3.8-liter V6 which develops 310 horsepower and produces 281 pound-feet of torque and is paired with a 9-speed automatic gearbox.
A situation that only affects the Canadian market
The parts supply challenges for the 2024 Frontier that Nissan is currently experiencing particularly affect the Canadian market. Indeed, if we consult the American Nissan website, we discover that all versions are still offered in the United States in 2024. We can therefore deduce that the American market will have priority over the Canadian market.
Regardless, Nissan Canada informs us that this situation is only temporary. As soon as we return to normal, we should find the same range of versions and cabins as in 2023. However, the manufacturer is not giving a precise date for the moment on this return to normal.
Falling sales for the van
This reduction in supply could have detrimental effects on the sales figures for the Nissan Frontier in 2024. Moreover, when the sales figures for the year 2023 were published, we noted that the Frontier had recorded a drop by comparison with the year 2022. Nissan delivered 3,343 Frontiers in 2023 compared to 5,075 in 2022. It will therefore be relevant to compare the sales figures next year to see if the reduction in versions offered will have had an impact on sales .
