Polestar will put its electric SUV to the test at the Goodwood Festival

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is an iconic motorized event. Each year, several historic vehicles parade down the track to show off their capabilities, a track located on a hill. Located in the Sussex region in the west of the United Kingdom, many car manufacturers also take the opportunity to test and display new products. Polestar will take advantage of the 90e edition of the event to show the capabilities of the brand’s next electric SUV, the Polestar 3 as well as his performance car, the Polestar 5 in public.

On the track

Polestar confirms that both prototypes will indeed be on track at the event. The 517hp Polestar 3 and the 884hp Polestar 5 will make the iconic climb twice a day during the entire festival which takes place from July 13-16. In addition, Polestar will put on the circuit a special edition of the Polestar 2, the 230. This version promises 476 horsepower.

According to Thomas Ingenlath, CEO of Polestar, this race will allow the vehicles to be displayed before the Polestar 3 is manufactured. “We like to show our latest prototypes to the public at Goodwood. As production begins on 1er quarter of 2024, it’s time for the Polestar 3 to perform its very first climb of the famous hill. The CEO adds that the Polestar 5 is being developed in the UK, and Goodwood is the perfect playground to show off the company’s electric 4-door GT car.

The builder will also have a static booth on site. He will take the opportunity to present the brand’s electric roadster concept, a convertible car that the manufacturer hopes to launch on the global market in 2026.

It would also be possible to recharge the battery from 10 to 80% of its autonomy in 30 minutes thanks to the use of a fast charging station at 250 kilowatts. According to Polestar, the first units will be delivered during the 2e quarter of 2024.
