Ram launches the 1500 TRX Havoc: the power of yellow

A power war broke out between RAM and Ford during the last years. Both manufacturers offer supercharged performance trucks that fight an unparalleled battle. Ford Raptor R, Ram TRX, in short, the dinosaurs strike back. To give even more choice, Ram lifted the veil today on the edition havoc of the TRX, an exclusive edition for 2023.

Under the hood of the Havoc Edition, the Ram TRX retains the already well-known enormous mechanics of the manufacturer, namely the 6.2-litre V8 supercharged by volumetric compressor which develops an output of 702 horsepower and produces a torque of 650 lb-ft. Of course, the 8-speed automatic transmission is the same as the regular TRX edition.

The mechanics of Ram 1500 TRX Havoc therefore remains similar to that of the regular TRX. You will have understood that the distinction comes from the aesthetics of the van. Since the regular Ram TRX is already the most equipped and efficient model in the range, the Ram 1500 TRX Havoc adds an additional layer of options and exclusivity to the truck.

An expanded selection of materials and colors will be available to customers looking to purchase the Ram 1500 TRX Havoc. Standard equipped with the manufacturer’s Level 2 option package, the Havoc will offer even more personalized touches. Part of the $12,000 difference between the regular TRX and the TRX Havoc comes from this Tier 2 set, which costs $8,985. The other extra cost comes from the 18-inch black wheels unique to the edition, those costing $1,795. Along with its two options, carbon fiber accents and a unique badge on the center console are added to make the cabin unique to the Havoc.

The most striking element is the Baja yellow color, exclusive to this edition. Speaking of this color, several yellow materials will be incorporated into the interior of the pickup truck. It still retains the panoramic roof, the TRX logos embroidered on the seatbacks and the head-up display.

Ram will present an electric pickup truck soon

A few weeks before the launch of the first electric Ram, the Ram 1500 TRX Havoc is a combustion engine edition for brand purists. The manufacturer’s investment in the Ram Revolution, the company’s electric truck, may indicate that the Ram 1500 TRX Havoc will be a collector’s item.

Speaking of the Ram Revolution, know that it is in Las Vegas, more precisely at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), that Ram will present its first electric pickup truck. Part of the Ram Revolution program, this pickup should be a competitor to the F-150 Lightning and the Chevrolet Silverado EV. The information conveyed so far indicates that the Ram Revolution will be built on the STLA EV platform from Stellantis. This platform should be able to accommodate a 100 kilowatt-hour battery and have a range of 800 kilometers, according to the WLTP standard. It will be necessary to wait for the EPA standard before confirming these figures, but the autonomy should be competitive.

Sold at a price of $123,685 including freight and delivery charges, the Ram 1500 TRX Havoc is the most expensive pickup truck in the 1500 lineup at Ram. The Ram 1500 TRX is priced at $108,000, so you’ll have to shell out $12,000 more to get the Havoc Edition. The first editions will be delivered during the first quarter of 2023, a limited quantity will be produced.
