Ram presents its 1500 electric in final version

Stellantis’ truck brand, Ram, took advantage of the Super Bowl to present the first images of its electric Ram 1500 in its final form. Essential van to ensure the energy transition, it will be less futuristic than what the style study suggested.

The Ram 1500 REV, that’s its official name, adopts a styling stance similar to that of the Ford F-150 Lightning, its most notorious rival and the one that won the race for the electric full-size pickup.

Range, towing and charging capabilities, and charging speed will exceed those of the competition.

What transpires from the first images of this production livery is a much different treatment of the front end by means of a modern, sealed horizontal grille whose lighting is made up of horizontal lines that converge on a modernized logo. The rear sees its square lights extending onto the body panel. In profile, this 1500 REV is much more similar to the production version of the 1500 with its straight and clean lines.

First taste of the interior of the 2024 Ram 1500 REV

As suggested by the style study presented in January, the 1500 REV would be entitled to a large front trunk where we find the V6 and V8 of the thermal variants of the van. The cabin is also largely inspired by the last generation of the 1500 with its wheel acting as a gear lever and its vertical infotainment screen.

But beyond these aesthetic details, Ram has been careful not to reveal anything technically. In January, a recharging power capacity of 350 kW and an electrical architecture of 800 V were advanced, two advantages which could logically be found on the 1500 REV which will be marketed in the fall of 2024. Ram also indicates that the autonomy , the towing and load capacities as well as the charging speed will exceed those of the competition.

The return of an intermediate van in the family?

The Dodge Dakota was the last midsize pickup produced by the American manufacturer until 2011.

At the same time, the American magazine motor-trend learned that Ram will show its dealers a first iteration of a new midsize pickup in March to gauge their interest.

If this new model reaches production in any form, it will allow Ram to return to a segment it dropped in 2011 with the end of life of the Dodge Dakota.
