Midsize pickups are growing in popularity. This is partly due to price increases for full-size pickups. Despite their small sizes, they are able to offer an interesting towing capacity as well as benefit from the advantages of a box. With this in mind, the company Scoutwhich specializes in manufacturing campers, now offers a model that can fit compact and mid-size pickups like the Jeep Gladiator and even the Ford Maverick.
Designed for vans with a small bed
A camper that fits into the bed of a pickup truck so you can practice camping isn’t something new. However, what the Scout Tuktut interesting offer is its compatibility with smaller vans, even in the case of a Ford Maverick. In fact, weighing only 288 kilograms and having a floor length of 1,499 millimeters, the Scout Tuktut can fit models with a maximum bed length of 5 feet. The secret of its lightness lies in its aluminum exoskeleton and its structural composite panels without the presence of wood that could rot over time, says the manufacturer.
Right off the bat, this compact camper is designed to accommodate up to 2 adults. Nevertheless, the manufacturer mentions on its site that the customization on the secondary market leaves the door open to the possibility of also accommodating children or pets. When it comes to accessibility, the interior ceiling height is 1,842 millimeters, which allows for reasonable headroom when standing up, but be careful, you shouldn’t be taller than 6 feet. The exterior height is 1,892 millimeters.
