The 2022 Dodge Durango 22 MOPAR, a collector’s edition
Dodge launches special edition MOPAR 22 of Dodge Durango R / T AWD to mark the 85th anniversary of MOPAR. Canada will only receive 50 copies.
Born from the contraction of the words MOtors PARts, MOPAR exists since 1937 in the bosom of what is today Stellantis. At that time, the equipment manufacturer / preparer offered spare parts in order to improve the performance of vehicles.
Over the decades, MOPAR has largely contributed to the explosion of the value of many Dodge, Chrysler, Plymouth, DeSoto, Jeep, RAM, etc … Historically, MOPAR components are known to be of high quality, especially when it comes to restoration of old vehicles. At 85 years of age in 2022, MOPAR is participating in the development of a limited edition of the Durango.

Viva Las Vegas
Stellantis therefore seizes the opportunity of SEMA in Las Vegas to unveil a new limited edition Dodge Durango, the “MOPAR 22”. Only 250 copies will be produced, 50 of which are destined for Canada. The remaining 200 copies will naturally go to the United States. The basis of the MOPAR 22 is the Durango R / T AWD with standard equipment the Plus package and Tow’n Go towing; the latter option alone is worth $ 5,495.
All in style
Aesthetically, the MOPAR 22 will be quite easily recognizable. It will be available in 2 tones only: “Knuckle” white or “DB” black. In both cases, we discover unstructured decorative bands of the typical MOPAR color, MOPAR blue. In addition, we find the same coloring for Brembo design brake calipers. In addition, the buyer will be entitled to 20-inch rims painted in black. Up front, this Durango gets a MOPAR-designed radiator grille. For a more menacing look and more dynamic behavior, the suspensions are lowered by 25 millimeters (1 inch).
Numbered
In the passenger compartment, we get the slightly modernized 2021 dashboard. However, being a version offered in limited quantities, MOPAR affixes a numbered plate to each vehicle. The seats are covered in leather and suede in addition to getting the legendary M logo for MOPAR embroidered in the headrests. We end the tour of the passenger compartment with blue stitching and a sport crankset.
A HEMI naturally
In terms of mechanics, not surprisingly, we see that a HEMI V8 is hiding under the hood. In this case, it’s the 5.7-liter version that develops 360 horsepower and produces 390 pound-feet of torque. It is mated to the 8-speed automatic transmission. The MOPAR 22 version also includes a limited slip differential as well as adaptive suspensions.
Over $ 70,000?
For now, Stellantis has announced the price of the MOPAR 22 option at $ 3,995 for the US market without disclosing the price for Canada. If the base price of the R / T version in Canada is slightly above $ 65,000, considering the accessories and the uniqueness of the MOPAR 22, one can easily assume that the pricing will exceed $ 70,000.
