The EQE SUV is added to the brand’s electric arsenal

A logical follow-up to the launch of the EQE sedan, Mercedes-Benz recently unveiled its SUV counterpart to increase its electric footprint. The new model will sit below the EQS SUV in the hierarchy of the German manufacturer.

Without upsetting anything aesthetically, its length of 4.8 m makes it slightly shorter than a Mercedes-Benz GLE with a combustion engine. It is also less wide and less tall than this one.

The Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV is slightly shorter than a combustion engine Mercedes-Benz GLE.

Two all-wheel-drive versions will be displayed in the Canadian catalogue: the EQE 350 with 288 hp and the EQE 500 with 402 hp in total. The maximum range targeted is around 550 km in the European measurement cycle (WLTP). We will therefore have to wait a little longer to find out what the North American figures will be.

Moreover, the passenger compartment can be equipped with a huge 141 cm OLED screen which occupies almost the entirety of the dashboard. Rolling will be improved by the option of air springs which can slightly increase ground clearance.

Production of the EQE SUV will begin in December at the Tuscaloosa, Alabama assembly plant.
