The Integra Type S will be slightly more powerful than the Civic Type R

Acura continues the slow stripping of information about the long-awaited Integra Type S by revealing its power. The model, which is closely based on the Honda Civic Type R, will have a handful more horsepower to confirm its pecking order.

Thus, its turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder will produce 320 hp, compared to 315 hp for the Civic. The 310 lb-ft of torque remains the same in both cases. Is this the omen of a mechanism that can revolutionize at higher speeds, giving it a more boiling temperament or simply a different calibration? Acura does not advance anything for the moment to explain this slight difference in power.

Never mind, the compact will only be equipped with a six-speed manual transmission to delight purists and stand out from the competition among luxury brands. It will be interesting to observe the differences in approach on a technical level between this Integra Type S and the Civic Type R currently on the market. One thing is certain, Acura is already advancing that its creation will bet on a more luxurious approach, which could result in a higher weight.

We will know more at the Long Beach Grand Prix, an IndyCar championship event held from April 14 to 16, which will be the scene of its premiere.
