The Toyota Crown Signia ready to take over from the Venza

Toyota has revealed the full range of technical specifications for the Canadian version of its new Crown Signia hybrid mid-size crossover. The model, which will make its debut in the country this summer, will take the place of the Venza in the manufacturer's range.

Relying on a wheelbase significantly increased by 16 cm and a total length increased by 19 cm compared to the Venza, this newcomer presents itself as a family version of the Crown sedan. Its trunk can hold 730 L, which is nevertheless 86 L less than in the case of the Venza.

A hybrid engine consisting of a 2.5L four-cylinder is supported at the front by an electric motor and an alternator recharging the battery. The rear also has an electric motor to support the effort. It is therefore a system without a drive shaft which reaches a total power of 240 hp. Average consumption is estimated at 6.2 L/100 km, which is almost identical to that of the Venza (6.1 L/100 km).

The interior is also more plush and modern to act as a bridge between the Toyota and Lexus ranges. However, this brings its starting price to $61,010 (all costs included), or $15,500 more than that of a standard Venza, all the same.
