VinFast discreetly raises the prices of VF 8 and VF 9
VinFast this curious Vietnamese manufacturer which has not yet marketed vehicles on our market has just discreetly increased the prices of its only two models, the VF 8 and VF 9. Indeed, since September 1, 2022, the entire range has risen in price, because the manufacturer now claims to want to rank among luxury vehicles, a daring bet considering the young age of the manufacturer.
VinFast has not made any social media announcements or issued a press release to this effect. However, it promises that customers who have reserved a VF 8 or a VF 9 before September 1 will be able to keep the old price.
For the VF8, this is an increase of $4,140 from $50,850 to $54,850 before freight and PDI, but only if the consumer opts for the battery rental service. The price of this rental has also skyrocketed from $39 to $259 per month. A consumer wanting to purchase a VF 8 with the battery included – new since we drove the VF 8 in Vietnam last April – must pay $64,990.
For the VF 9, the full-size SUV due next year, that’s a starting price of $79,990 instead of $70,000 based on a battery subscription costing $349 per month. Buying a VF 9 with battery included costs no less than $103,790.
Even if VinFast had promised the first deliveries of the VF 8 in Canada in September 2022, the manufacturer still does not market anything on our market. RPM was originally supposed to go drive a production VF 8 in New York in June 2022, but VinFast ultimately never followed up on the invitation. We are still awaiting a response from the manufacturer as to the new marketing date of the VF 8.
